At Sukha, we didn't just choose recycled sheep's wool for its warmth or natural feel. We chose it because it ticks all the boxes of beauty, goodness, and justice .
This exceptional fabric, straight from the Pyrenees, is much more than a noble material: it is a symbol. That of a French industry that is being reborn , of a know-how that we thought had been forgotten, and of a rediscovered link between comfort and conscience.
A local resource neglected for too long
In France, millions of sheep are sheared every year for their well-being.
But for a long time, this wool was considered a by-product, without value. As a result, more than 4,000 tonnes of wool are still thrown away each year , due to a lack of outlets or local processing*.

Fortunately, some sectors are mobilizing.
Breeders, knitters and artisans are joining forces to reinvent the French wool industry .
And at Sukha, we are part of this dynamic.
From felt to fabric: an ethical and sustainable cocoon
Our heating accessories are made up of two key textile elements:
- A wool felt , used inside several of our products: thick, insulating, fireproof, soft... It comes from Filature Colbert in Occitanie, committed to the revaluation of this exceptional material.
- A knitted fabric made from Auroise wool , supplied by Marelha, from Pyrenean sheep. This "knitted fur" is soft, warm and naturally unbleached or brown.
In both cases, each batch is traceable, via a material passport developed by the Tricolor Collective.
The result? A material that has meaning. And that has a soul.
The virtues of wool: a natural treasure to rediscover
Why so much attention to this material? Because wool offers unique, often overlooked qualities:
- Thermal insulation : it retains heat when it’s cold… but remains breathable.

Hypoallergenic , anti-dust mite and above all flame retardant.
